A very warm spanish welcome.
Hooray! We arrived to a fantastic warm welcome from our Spanish families and colleagues. All the children were reunited with their friends and then happily went on their way. Some of the children were heading straight to the ice cream parlour and park but had to come home slightly earlier to shelter from the thunderstorm. The teachers had to do a little problem solving by sharing 1 umbrella between 5... guess who was the sensible one and brought the brolly and didn´t have it confiscated!!!
We all live in a yellow submarine!
All smiles from RWS and a rather sweet trip to Liverpool, I think the children ate their way through nearly all Haribos before restocking at the airport. Mrs Williamson had packed her Magic Cool to help keep us all cool but sadly got her bag checked and confiscated... Mrs Lobb was worried she would have to bail her out!

Well, the day has finally arrived - time to set off for Spain! Hugs, goodbyes, suitcases loaded and the bus is off to the airport full of excited children and teachers. Mrs Maskill looks particularly happy to be leaving! Can't wait to hear all about the next part of your Spanish adventure, everyone!

Adios amigos!
This morning we bid our
Spanish friends goodbye. There were tears but that was from Mr Jolly who was too late for a sausage sandwich! We have had a final organisation meeting today and are all really excited about our return trip- don't forget your chargers for phones, camera's, sun cream, sun spec etc. All the children have promised to have an early night and recharge their batteries ready for our trip. See you all tomorrow at 7:30!

Monday 9 June
The last day of the exchange in York and it's another busy one. Whilst Year 5 are slaving away over maths and writing tests, their partners and the Year 6s are getting up to all sorts of different activities. This includes final preparation of tasty treats for the afternoon tea, helping Early Years with Sports Day Practise and having a go at a variety of indoor and outdoor games with Mrs Sadullah in the White Hall. If you want to know how to play marbles, High Low Dolly Pepper, the Fruit Game, or do the H-o-o-o-o-t Dog - ask anyone from Team Madrid!
The day ends with a memorable assembly when gifts are exchanged, the week is celebrated and goodbyes are said. It's not just the children and teachers from Asunción Rincón who are leaving, but our own Pedro is going back to Madrid too this week.
